You hear the word Holi, and you imagine colours, family gatherings, fun and? And the sweet, khoya filled, golden glazed gujiyas. Obviously! Those delicious stuffed gujiyas are one of the festive favourites of every Indian household.

However, seeing the calorie count, many compromise their desire to eat this delectable sweet. Well, if this has been keeping you off gujiyas, then this Holi try a healthy version of the traditional gujiya without losing on its true essence. Wondering how?

You can simply bake the gujiyas instead of deep frying and use G-Low Sugar by Trust instead of regular white sugar.

Grab these simple ingredients and get ready for some mouth-watering gujiyas.

-150g khoya (mawa)

-100g G-Low Sugar by Trust

-125g refined flour

-2 tbsp condensed milk

-50 ml milk

-2 tbsp ghee

-4 green cardamom

-1 handful mixed dry fruits

In this busy schedule, bake a healthier and quicker version in just an hour!

  • Chop up the dry fruits and crush the green cardamoms into powder. Pour the refined flour into a bowl and mix melted ghee with it. Knead the mixture with lukewarm milk to make a stiff dough. Once done, cover the bowl with a moist cloth and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.

  • Roast mawa in the microwave for 1 minute until the ghee starts coming out of the edges. Cool down the mawa and add the chopped dry fruits and powdered green cardamoms. Add G-Low Sugar to it and mix well. G-Low Sugar by Trust will be your healthy hero as it has 30% lower GI. It tastes just like your regular sugar and gives you long-lasting energy, much required for the festive season.

  • Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into circles. Place these circles on a gujiya mold and add 2 tablespoons of the mawa stuffing in the center. Seal the sides tightly by applying water on the edges and remove the excess dough.

  • Grease a baking tray and preheat your oven to 200°C. Place the gujiyas on the greased tray and bake for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix condensed milk and milk together in a bowl. After 10 minutes, remove the light brown gujiyas and apply the milk mixture on both sides with a brush. Place the tray back in your oven for another 5 minutes until they turn golden brown in colour.

Your healthy and tasty gujiyas are ready! They are baked to perfection for an aromatic and ambrosial experience, which will surely leave everyone craving for more. Do not resist the tantalizing aroma anymore, don't feel guilty, because G-Low Sugar by Trust will take care of your blood sugar levels!
