Ingredients:

  • 225g / 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (220g) Superfine Sugar by Trust
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt

For icing grab Trust Premium Icing Sugar for the extra shine on your cookies. You will also need:

  • 1/4 cup egg white
  • 2 tbsp corn/ glucose syrup
  • 5 tbsp water ,add as needed

To get started with your biscuits, preheat your oven to 180°C. Place two baking sheets along with your parchment paper. Put the butter and Superfine Sugar by Trust in a bowl and beat it until you get a creamy texture, this usually take about 1minute at speed five.

Then add egg and vanilla, beat until completely combined. Then sowly add flour, baking powder, and salt. Start mixing gently, then beat until the flour has absorbed the mix, you will find the mix getting clumpy.

After your dough is all set and ready scrape all the remaining flour. Pat the dough gently then cut into half, then shape it into 2 discs. Roll out the dough to 0.3cm / 1/8 or 0.6cm / 1/4" , remember to sprinkle flour under and over the dough.

Use cookie cutters to shape your biscuits. Bake for 10 minutes or until the bottom is pale golden and the edges are turning to light golden. Place your tray outside and allow them to bake with the heat of the tray.

For icing place your ingredients in a bowl and beat it for 1 minute until smooth and shiny, pro-tip: start with low speed then gradually increase your speed.

Move the icing into various dishes for shading. Add food color and blend – continue adding your colour until you get the desired colours. In case icing feels like it is too thin you can add more Trust Premium Icing Sugar.

Move icing into ziplock bags, cut a tiny hole on the corner. Pipe your designs on the biscuits. You can also add more sprinkles for the perfect look!

Your drool-worthy cookies are ready to go!
